Finance Manager Cum Accountant
Job Description:
Our client, a well-established and growing paper packaging manufacturing company based in Kikatiti, Arusha, is seeking to recruit an experienced and results-driven Finance Manager cum Accountant to lead its finance function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, ensuring sound financial management, effective internal controls, manufacturing cost management, statutory compliance, and timely financial reporting to support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Oversee daily financial and accounting operations of the manufacturing division
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning
- Monitor operational expenses, production costs, and profitability
- Develop and implement financial control systems and procedures
- Support management in strategic financial planning and decision-making
Accounting Operations
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial reports
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Supervise invoicing, collections, supplier payments, and payroll
- Ensure proper posting of transactions and ledger management
- Monitor financial transactions and accounting compliance
Cost Control
- Monitor production costs and manufacturing expenses
- Manage costing systems for packaging products
- Analyze raw material consumption and production wastage
- Monitor inventory movement and stock valuation
- Ensure proper cost allocation and operational efficiency
Budgeting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Develop operational and departmental budgets
- Monitor budget performance and cost variances
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis
- Assist management with forecasting and financial planning
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure compliance with TRA, VAT, PAYE, NSSF, WCF, and statutory requirements
- Coordinate audits and maintain proper financial documentation
- Ensure timely filing of tax and statutory returns
- Maintain internal control systems and financial accountability
Inventory & Asset Management
- Monitor inventory controls and stock reconciliation
- Supervise asset records and depreciation schedules
- Coordinate procurement and expenditure monitoring
- Ensure accountability of company assets and materials
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years experience in accounting and financial management
- Experience in manufacturing, packaging, production, or industrial operations preferred
- Strong understanding of costing systems and inventory management
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
- Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
